My Care, My Way at the annual local Age UK Health Fair

My Care, My Way integrated care service for over 65s spread the word at the annual Age UK Kensington & Chelsea Health Fair. The event, held on 7 October, saw around 600 older people from across the borough to Kensington Town Hall find out about all the help and social opportunities available to them.

The multi-collaborative My Care, My Way service is currently being offered at 24 of the local GP surgeries and offers integrated care for over 65s, sponsored by West London CCG and developed in partnership with patients. The visitors learned more about the service, how to stay well in the winter, and other projects led by the CCG for the benefit of local residents.

"It’s been a lively event and everyone was very interested in our work. It has been a great opportunity to share vital information on our services that can make a real difference to their wellbeing such as our self-care initiative," said Kalwant Sahota, WLCCG selfcare commissioning and development manager.

WLCCG MD Louise Proctor opened the fair with Mayor Elizabeth Rutherford and AGE UK’s Jan Halliday, Chief Executive, Age UK Kensington & Chelsea.

Halliday commented, "Each year the success of the event relies not only on the hard work of staff, stallholders and volunteers, but also on sponsorship to make it affordable. This year we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors: The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, West London Clinical Commissioning Group, The Key Safe Company, Peter Jones and Waitrose."
