Seven day GP and nurse access now available near you
As of May 2nd 2016, residents of Kensington and Chelsea and Queens Park and Paddington will have access to GP and nursing services seven days a week, thanks to a new service commissioned by NHS West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
Two state-of-the-art hubs will be accepting referrals for GP and nurse appointments at the weekend, and in the evenings. The hubs are based at the following locations:
Violet Melchett Clinic
30 Flood Walk
St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing
Hub opening hours will be 6pm to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm Saturday & Sunday.
The hub services will replace the existing Weekend Walk-in services provided at Colville Health Centre, Knightsbridge Medical Centre, Earls Court Medical Centre, and Barlby Surgery.
To make an evening or weekend appointment at the Hubs simply contact your practice who will help you to book a convenient slot. Available services will include routine appointments, check-ups, small wound care, cervical screening, contraception advice and vaccinations.
Based on our conversations with patients, we expect this to be popular, as it provides convenient clinical care in a local setting.
The service has been introduced as part of a wider plan to bring many aspects of care into a more convenient, community setting by moving it into the familiar environment of a GP practice.
Remember that residents can call NHS 111 if they need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls are free from landlines and mobiles.
