BME Health Forum

As part of our patient and public engagement we commission the BME Health Forum to support marginalised communities to engage and influence local health care provision.

It serves as a medium and forum for health professionals and commissioners to understand the needs of marginalised patients, thereby improving health outcomes for patients from BME background.

The BME Health Forum holds quarterly meetings and regular focus groups for the CCG to engage with local BME voluntary organisations and patients in order to hear their views and feed in to a variety of CCG services.

The BME Health Forum works with the CCG to:

Identify barriers to healthcare access for BME communities.

  • Support to BME communities to engage with the commissioning and monitoring of NHS services.
  • Meaningful dialogue between BME communities, commissioners and providers is increased.
  • Demonstrate the impact of project on community groups and individuals through evidence based analysis
